MOLDE, Norway, April 10, 2025 – In recent years, Axess Group has strengthened its regional footprint across the African continent with the opening of new offices in Namibia, the Republic of the Congo, and Côte d’Ivoire. The expansion marks an exciting milestone, enabling Axess to provide localised services to its growing client base.
Axess began operating in Africa in 2012 and established its regional headquarters in South Africa with the acquisition of Skysite Offshore in South Africa in 2014. Following successful contract awards, Axess established a presence in Angola and Ghana in 2016, and later opened an office in Senegal in 2022.
Alex Owen, General Manager – Africa at Axess Group, said, “We have experienced significant growth in the Africa region over the past 3 years, reflecting our ability to deliver innovative solutions to address our customers’ challenges. By leveraging our global footprint, we have been able to support both newbuild projects and exploration drillers operating in the region. In addition to establishing new entities, we have also increased operational activities in our existing entities, with Angola’s output nearly doubling in 2024. We look forward to continuing to provide world-class solutions to our clients in the Marine XII and Baleine fields, and more.”
Strategic expansion
Walvis Bay, Namibia: Since 2016, Axess has supported global customers with ad-hoc drilling operations in Namibia. Following significant offshore discoveries, the company established a presence in Namibia in late 2022, offering specialised services onshore and offshore. In 2024, Axess formalised its presence by opening a warehouse to support ongoing operations.
Pointe-Noire, Republic of the Congo: In 2023, Axess established an entity in the Republic of Congo to support a long-term client on the Marine XII field development project, helping to achieve first oil and gas within the planned timeframe.
Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire: Most recently, Axess expanded to Côte d’Ivoire, following a successful project relating to the Baleine field development. The project, initiated in Dubai in 2024 and completed offshore Côte d’Ivoire, contributed to the client’s success in achieving first oil and gas on schedule.
