Axess Group secures 3rd party inspection services contract for E6 highway in Norway

MOLDE, Norway, October 18, 2022 – Axess has been engaged by COWI AS to provide third-party inspection services for the bridges that are being constructed for the E6 Ranheim-Værnes highway in Norway.

The two Hommelvik bridges (southbound and northbound) are 4-span cooperative bridges with a total length of 228m and 251m respectively. Axess’ QC department will be carrying out quality control of steel fabrication, welding, surface treatment and quality surveillance of the assembly of the steel components at the construction site in Hommelvik.

Founded in 1930, COWI is an international consulting group, specializing in engineering, environmental science and economics. COWI has wide experience with bridge engineering in Norway as well as on the international market.

The four-lane highway of 23 km between Ranheim to Værnes is designed and constructed by ACCIONA in collaboration with the Norwegian state-owned Nye Veier. Aimed at improving connectivity in the northern part of Trøndelag County, the highway is scheduled for completion in 2026. It will be a part of the 3,120 km long route, stretching from Trelleborg in Sweden to Kirkenes in Norway.
