Axess Bridgeᵀᴹ, a web-based platform developed by Axess Group and its subsidiary Axbit, has announced the release of a new module. The NDT module was activated for all clients on 1 May 2018. NDT is an inspection software tool which provides the project manager, inspection planner, inspectors, and clients an efficient way to improve all aspects of non-destructive testing processes.
Paper-based data collection and labour-intensive activities are restraining the inspection and oilfield services industry. Navigating through a pile of spreadsheets slows the report turnaround time, and hinders the timely implementation of corrective actions. Also, the level of quality of data is highly dependent to individual inspector’s preferences, challenging data mining and analysis.
The new NDT module meets the future needs of the industry for a more sophisticated network tolerant reporting and monitoring system. It facilitates a fast, accurate and consistent NDT work process — from initial planning, scheduling and execution to providing real-time access to inspection data. The NDT module uses Event Sourcing technology and stores all data in a larger audit log in a very granular, domain-specific fashion that lets us rewind time should we want to and to re-interpret old data in new and interesting ways. The NDT application also adheres to the new Progressive Web App standard which makes it behave like a native mobile app even though it is just as accessible as a normal website. It works just as fine across Online/Onshore or Offline/Offshore, silently and automatically syncing data in the background.
Mr. Per Gustav Porsanger, Software Manager for Axess Bridgeᵀᴹ, said: “Since NDT inspection is the basis of our activities in the field, we developed a tool that will optimise our inspection processes, improve quality of data and increase value for our clients. The NDT module is designed to provide inspectors with a real-time reporting software tool where they can execute inspection and reporting at the same time.”
“Project managers can readily access what has been done on the field, QA the report, and send over to our clients, speeding up the fault rectification process and mitigating potential hazards,” added Mr. Porsanger.
In a nutshell, the NDT module streamlines the entire NDT inspection process: track past inspections, organise client data into one single database, forecast jobs and analyse reports. It currently supports most conventional NDT methods, and will soon address other advanced methods, both for in-service inspection and fabrication testing.
