MOLDE, Norway, February 25, 2025 – Axess Group has opened a new office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to expand its business in Asia. To date, Axess has a presence in 25 countries worldwide.
The entity will offer a comprehensive range of asset integrity management and engineering solutions to clients, leveraging the extensive local talent pool of skilled inspectors and engineers.
Ricardo Freire, VP – APME at Axess Group, said, “This strategic expansion allows us to strengthen relationships with existing FPSO clients while providing engineering solutions to energy companies. Additionally, it will enhance efficiency through near-sourcing by tapping into the local talent pool to support projects in both Malaysia and Singapore.”
Rajib Bhowmik, Regional Director – Asia, will be leading the entity.

As Southeast Asia’s second-largest oil producer and the world’s third-largest exporter of liquefied natural gas (LNG), Malaysia offers significant potential. The country is home to both international and national oil companies, as well as major global Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) firms and Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) companies. With a mix of newly discovered oil fields and ageing brownfields, including over 300 offshore platforms, there are many opportunities for us to contribute our expertise,” Rajib Bhowmik, Regional Director – Asia at Axess Group said.
