Lillian has almost two decades of experience with electrical engineering in the Oil & Gas industry before she took up a position at Axess Technologies in 2021. She likes to spend her time outdoors in her free time. Her favourite activities include hiking in the summer and skiing in the winter.
I was keen to take up a job that can allow me to work both out in the field and in the office, after spending a lot of time offshore in recent years. While working in the field is very rewarding, I prefer to not be away for too long due to family commitments. Axess Technologies (previously known as Alpa) was able to provide me with the flexibility I needed.
I also wanted to join a local company with a global presence. It is interesting to work with people of other nationalities as everyone thinks a little differently. Engaging with other cultures improves my ability to understand and value other perspectives, and allows me to learn new things.
What do you find most meaningful about your role?
My job is to construct control and electrical systems for various equipment such as cranes and winches. I also participate in the final testing of the systems on site, to make sure that they function well.
Even after working in this role for almost two decades, I still like being involved in technical work, and I find it rewarding to be involved in the development of products, from the planning to the production phase.
As I am still relatively new to the company, I hope to gain a better understanding of the projects we do. I would also like to challenge myself to broaden my horizons and contribute to the innovative spirit that Axess Technologies has.
