What was your journey like in Axess?

I joined Axess North Sea in 2017 as a Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Technician, when the entity was newly established. I very quickly moved into the role of Work Leader following on-the-job training with a Norwegian Work Leader.

After spending 2 years working in the field, I was then given the opportunity to transfer into an office role and took on the role of a Personnel Logistics Coordinator. Soon after, I found myself in the position of Project Manager, a role I fulfilled for two years before transitioning into my current position of Contracts Manager for the Oil & Gas industry. My technical background and field experience allowed me to understand client requirements on a technical level, ensuring that we provide the right services to meet the clients' needs.

In my current role, my main responsibilities include developing the Oil & Gas department in the UK to become the centre of excellence, and managing contracts according to internal requirements to ensure a high standard of performance. In addition, I also assist the project management team with the day-to-day running of the projects, and offer advice and support where necessary.

What do you like about the culture in Axess?

From the very beginning of my career here, I realised that Axess is a very flexible company where a work-life balance is highly valued, and this is evident globally.

I also like that Axess is a diverse company with employees from different cultural backgrounds, who have different skills and experiences. There is a lot to learn from one another and we can generate more ideas.

Since we are a very diverse team, we learn to develop a good cultural understanding to work better together.

What do you hope to achieve in the company?

I hope that in the future, I will be given the opportunity to work for Axess abroad, in one of the many countries we operate in. My long-term career goal is to be responsible for the operations of an entity. While I still have a lot to learn in my current role, I feel that this goal is not too out of reach with the support that I receive from my colleagues.
