Andressa Gomes Abreu de Souza
Equipment Inspector
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Andressa dedicates her success to her perseverance. In her free time, she hikes to waterfalls and goes fishing at beaches. She believes that contact with nature helps to boost her energy.
After completing an Industrial Automation Technician course, I had my first contact with the oil and gas industry. When I was working on the shipyard, I hoped to join Axess due to its good reputation among other companies in the industry, for being a stable company that promotes professional growth and gender equality. Through the recommendation of a friend, I had the opportunity to join the company in 2020 and have since participated in many projects.
As a female in this role, I am but one example of how women have the ability to do whatever they want, regardless of their gender, and I am proud of it. I like that Axess offers an environment that empowers women and recognises them for their abilities. If I were given the chance to choose again, I would still choose to be here.

What do you find most meaningful about your role?
As a work leader, I maintain clear and proper communication with both my team and the client regarding projects, such as NR-10 Brazilian Compliance and NR-13 Instruments Calibration. I also make sure that the projects are in compliance with all the necessary procedures.
This is meaningful to me as I am working in the area that I wanted, and I am constantly gaining knowledge and also have the opportunity to lead projects.
I want to build a successful career here. By challenging myself to gain more knowledge in different areas and diversifying my skill set, I believe that I would be recognised for my abilities and have the opportunity to move up the corporate ladder.
