Turn-Key Asset Integrity Management Programme

Comprehensive asset integrity management programme based on risk analysis for a newly built topside.

Client: Lundin Norway AS
Industry: E&P
Asset: Edvard Grieg oil platform
Location: North Sea
Year: 2014-2018

Challenge

Lundin Norway required a partner to help them manage the integrity of the new Edvard Grieg’s topside process facility, steel jacket, risers and other subsea structures, prior to going on stream in late 2015.

Solution

Axess Group performed a Risk Based Inspection (RBI) Analysis as a basis for the development of a long-term inspection programme of the topside’s pressure systems, structures and risers. To determine what, where and how often to inspect, the Axess team carefully assessed the associated risks of each equipment.

With the RBI Analysis as the main foundation, Axess established and implemented a comprehensive asset-integrity management programme for Lundin. This included work processes for integrity management, inspection strategy and procedures, long-term inspection programme, preventive maintenance, inspection and engineering management, and Enterprise of Competence for cranes and lifting equipment. Regulations administered by the Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) governing offshore installations operated in the North Sea, as well Lundin’s own requirements and guidelines, were taken into account.

Results

Axess’ breadth of experience in offshore asset integrity management, compliance and risk management was an important contributor to the successful completion of the project. The annual inspection and preventive maintenance routines are major contributing factors to ensure that the static pressurised systems, jacket structures, and risers will perform as required throughout their 30-years’ intended lifetime. This ultimately enabled Lundin to maximise production uptime, reduce safety risks, and save maintenance costs.
